The word dilate found in the English dictionary. Verb dilate (third-person singular simple present dilates, present participle dilating, simple past and past participle dilated) 1. (transitive) To enlarge; to make bigger. The eye doctor put drops in my eye to dilate the pupil so he could see the nerve better. 2. (intransitive) To become wider or larger; to expand. Based on the definition of the word dilate (dilation) the eye expands so more light can enter. Our work focuses on how the eye perceives light, we capture images thru our lenses and work with these images to freeze a moment in time. |
